The Community Capital Fund (CCF) and the KCMO CDE are seeking one to two paid intern(s) (20-40 hours) for the 2015 summer in Kansas City, Missouri.
CCF is a community development nonprofit that supports and promotes innovative and measurable community development by focusing on neighborhood capacity building initiatives that leverage community resources and expertise. CCF works with organizations that strengthen the most challenged neighborhoods and communities in the heart of Kansas City through the annual Community Development Workshop, Neighborhood Opportunity Grant Program, Neighborhoods Rising Fund, and the online community project mapping tool CommunityKC. To date, CCF has held three Community Development Workshops attended by over 600 community members and stakeholders and awarded 37 grants totaling over $295,000 to community development and neighborhood organizations.

The KCMO CDE is a 501(c)(4) community development entity created to stimulate investment in Kansas City’s historically under-resourced and under-invested, economically distressed communities through its New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program, façade improvement loan program, microloan program, and 16-week workshop for small business owners and entrepreneurs.

CCF and the KCMO CDE strive to be innovative and high impact in all aspects of its programing; the intern will play a key role in advancing the work and capabilities of both organizations. The internship offers the opportunity to obtain real experience in community and economic development, place-based community funding, organizational development, program development, and interacting and working with a diverse group of community stakeholders. The intern will work with the CCF and KCMO CDE Program Managers.
