Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, geography or related field; Master’s degree preferred; and five years of professional planning experience desired. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license and pass pre-employment drug test and background check.

Job Related and Essential Duties:

-Analyze and process rezoning requests, preliminary and final plats, commercial and residential site plans, development agreements, permits, variances, conditional uses, temporary use permits and other private development processes as required.
-Research planning issues and prepares recommendations.
-Answer planning questions from citizens, developers and other interested parties via written and oral communications.
-Confer with and advise architects, builders, attorneys, contractors, engineers and the public on the City of Prescott’s General Plan and/or specific plans, development regulations and policies.
-Design and prepare illustrative, graphic and narrative presentation materials for public hearings and meetings.
-Utilize the City’s mapping programs; collect, record, and maintain statistical and demographic databases.
-Prepare and present technical staff reports for the Planning Commission, City Council, and other boards, commissions and citizen committees.
Review or help draft changes to zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations and general and neighborhood plans, as requested.
-Participate in public meetings, public hearings, and make presentations to elected officials, appointed boards/commissions, staff and public.
-May be assigned other duties as required.

Pay Range: $51,230 to $73,528 annually DOE/Q plus benefits

FLSA Status: Exempt – (not eligible for overtime)
