Ground Works Consulting is a small Oakland-based community development collective. We are looking for a summer graduate student intern with strong organizational, research, and writing skills who is open to a flexible schedule and enjoys a good laugh to help us with various projects. Example projects include:
- Supporting California statewide housing advocacy collaborative in their development of a coordinated advocacy agenda
- Facilitating a national cohort of community development organizations in embedding health equity into their work
- Providing training on equitable economic development to a regional collaborative in Central California
Support a Los Angeles community development organization in strategic planning
- Facilitating a cohort of California climate leaders to equip them with adaptive leadership knowledge and skills to advance the State’s movement for equitable climate resilience

Example responsibilities may include (depending on skills and interests):
- Scheduling & meeting minutes
- Research (desktop or interviews)
- Drafting slide decks and memos
- Revisions to draft documents
- Assistance with event planning

Ground Works Consulting works at the intersection of community power-building and community development. Pay: $35/hour
Duration: 10-12 weeks, full or part-time (prefer no less than approx. 20 hours per week) over the summer. The work schedule will be determined by mutual agreement with the selected candidate prior to the commencement of the internship.
