Mission Community Market (MCM) seeks a bilingual Project Manager to recruit, hire and empower 6-8 local bilingual youth, ages 16-21, to conduct a neighborhood health and public space needs assessment. The findings will inform the selection of brief, evidence-based health and welfare interventions to be held at the Mercado Plaza, tailored to neighborhood needs.

MCM’s vision is to transform a blighted block in the heart of the Mission into the Mercado Plaza, a world-class public space. The Plaza will serve to convene community partners through civic engagement, community health, and shared stewardship and is slated to open in March 2015.

MCM is perhaps best known for its weekly, outdoor marketplace that celebrates the Mission’s diversity with a farmers’ market, small businesses, bilingual nutrition education, and after-school programs in music and dance.
