The Assistant Deputy Director of Development position is a senior position requiring leadership, pragmatism, negotiating skill, deep transactional experience, management acuity and charisma. The Assistant Deputy Director of Development oversees and directs public-private partnership development projects on Port property, including financial, regulatory, legal, and community acceptance aspects. The position is responsible for negotiating complex real estate transaction agreements. The scope of responsibilities of the position includes all public-private development projects on the Port’s 7 ½ miles of waterfront property. Most projects are large-scale, complex and politically sensitive, with potential significant impacts on the economic vitality of the Port and City. Many of the projects are managed jointly with the City’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development.
