BAE Urban Economics, Inc. (BAE) is seeking a qualified Associate for our Sacramento/Lake Tahoe Regional office. We will fill the position depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate who is the best fit for our needs. The position is primarily remote, with attendance at in-office functions as needed.

Associate Position

Under the direction of senior management in the Sacramento/Lake Tahoe region, the Associate will support project teams across all BAE offices in a wide range of public- and private-sector client engagements. Associates work as part of a team to complete technical analyses and reports and provide support for activities such as preparation of proposals and presentations, and special projects. Associates are expected to plan and execute analytical tasks, prioritize multiple assignments, and complete deliverables in a timely manner with creativity and attention to detail.

This position requires:

Master’s degree in city and regional planning, business administration, economics, public policy, or another related field.

1-2 years relevant work experience.

Understanding of the real estate development process.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Strong professional writing skills.

Driver’s license and ability to travel.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.


Skills and experience in pro-forma financial modeling, fiscal impacts modeling, demographic trends analysis, geographic information systems (GIS), IMPLAN economic modeling software, and statistics software packages are desirable but not required, as is a working knowledge of the Northern California region.
