LSC Transportation Consultants, Inc., a well-established multimodal transportation planning and traffic engineering consulting firm with offices in Denver and Colorado Springs, CO and Tahoe City, CA is seeking a talented, self-motivated individual to join our team and fill an entry-level Transportation Planner position to work either in-office at our Tahoe City, CA location or remotely for the right applicant.

Essential Job Functions:

- Assist project managers in preparing short-range and long-range transit plans, as well as coordination plans for rural, tribal, and small urban transit systems, primarily in the Mountain West region

- Analyze and evaluate multimodal transportation, transit, and land use data, particularly from the U.S. Census and American Community Survey

- Assist with the preparation of proposals

- Conducts virtual and in-person public outreach

- Research best planning practices and emerging topics related to transit and transportation

This position requires some travel to various project locations

Required Skills:

- Proven ability to work successfully independently with limited supervision on multiple projects simultaneously

- Skill in research, data collection and analysis, statistics and the use of spreadsheets/databases, and data visualization

- Strong technical writing ability
Preparation of charts, graphics, and other visuals for inclusion in planning documents and presentation materials

- Effectively communicates technical information to audiences orally and in writing

- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with agency staff, public officials, community stakeholders, and the general public

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public administration/management, engineering, or closely related field
0-2 years of relevant experience
Master’s degree in relevant field may be considered to meet the required experience.
