This position will focus on urban design aspects of a range of planning assignments, including station area, downtown, corridor, and community plans. The Planner/Urban Designer will also contribute to general plans and zoning regulations. The ideal candidate will blend strong urban design skills with writing and analytical ability. Work will include creating computer models, drawings and maps; writing reports and plans; and facilitating community workshops and related outreach activities. This is not a “production” position; candidate should be able to take initiative, think creatively, and manage discrete assignments.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Degree in architecture or landscape architecture, or city planning with an urban design focus

• Minimum one-year planning or urban design experience. Additional experience is desirable

• Excellent computer modeling abilities (AutoCAD, SketchUp)

• Expertise with Adobe CS

• Working knowledge of ArcGIS and hand-drawing ability are desirable
