Associate Environmental Planner

Duties:

Project Management

•Track project budgets and expenditures
•Report to Senior Planner/Project Manager on project schedule and budget
•Report to Senior Planner on project tasks
•Coordinate and attend client meetings
•Prepare presentation materials
•Prepare meeting minutes
•Represent GPA at professional events

Environmental Planning Services

•Identify research needs and conduct research
•Perform fieldwork to collect site data
•Complete technical analysis
•Prepare, review, and process environmental documentation
•Prepare regulatory permit applications and coastal permit applications
•Attend public meetings, project kick-off meetings, project development meetings, and interviews
•Coordinate with public agencies, engineers, and other project team members during project development

Skills/Requirements:

Working knowledge of:

•CEQA/NEPA
•Caltrans, Metro, and other public agency standards
•State/federal regulatory processes

•Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in environmental planning or a closely related field
•Three or more years of full-time professional experience in the environmental planning field
•Strong organizational and computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Project, PowerPoint)
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills including leadership, teamwork, project management, and public speaking
•Strong writing and analytical skills and high attention to detail
