Global Site Plans is seeking qualified applicants for Assistant Editor Internships. As an Assistant Editor, you will have the opportunity to supervise our blog writers. You will gain valuable experience and skills, and we make all of our internships available for academic credit. In addition, we offer free resume and career coaching to support you as you transition from our internship into the next phase of your career.

This is a virtual internship, and although you don’t have to commute to our office, we still expect professionalism and commitment from you. We are looking for the best of the best. If you are creative, energetic, and eager to learn, and can commit to at least a one year internship; we want to hear from you.

What to expect during your internship with Global Site Plans?

You can expect to gain experience in a variety of areas such as editing, WordPress formatting, and collaborating with a diverse group of international bloggers. Your duties may include, but are not limited to:

Supervising up to 10 blogging interns;
Creating and managing blogging submission schedules;
Ensuring bloggers meet weekly deadlines;
Editing blogs for content, grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and formatting;
Formatting individual blog submissions in WordPress;
Supporting direct reports through constructive, positive feedback; and
Developing and motivating your team over a six month or one year internship lifecycle.

What we’re looking for:

1 year commitment, contractually;
Excellent English writing and editing skills;
Uninterrupted Internet and computer access, must check email daily;
Ability to manage 10 blogger interns, with a natural desire to teach;
Independent self-starter;
Superior time management skills;
Problem solver and creative thinker;
Great communication and people skills, a natural motivator;
Multicultural understanding and awareness;
Ability to work remotely;
Previous experience as a writer for a blog is a plus.
