We are looking for an entry-level energetic, career-minded conservation or environmental planner to join us on a full-time basis in our San Rafael office. We currently have one opening in our Mitigation Department and are looking for someone with experience in conservation or environmental planning or related experience. The work that this position entails is varied and includes mitigation and conservation banking/planning as well as environmental compliance (CEQA, wetland permitting), and restoration planning.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in conservation planning and/or biology and may require some travel to other areas of the State. Desired qualifications include: education and experience in California plant taxonomy and surveys, habitat/association mapping, environmental impact analysis, permit preparation, and mitigation analysis. Demonstrable technical writing ability and excellent communication skills are essential. Previous experience is preferred.

The Technician will be an integral part of the Mitigation Banking and Environmental Finance Department team. His or her focus will be to assist with entitling and developing ecosystem investments for WRA’s clients, in particular mitigation and conservation banks. He or she will be expected to be assist in several of the following tasks:
• Implementation of large, multi-year bank entitlement projects
• Ongoing management of established mitigation and conservation banks
• Due Diligence for clients interested in investing in mitigation banks and other environmental projects
