Dyett & Bhatia (www.dyettandbhatia.com) is a 20-person urban planning firm, with a focus on preparing long-range plans for cities, and an award-winning portfolio of work. Our office is located in the vibrant, historic Jackson Square District in downtown San Francisco, easily reached by transit, with scores of restaurants and cafés within walking distance.

The Position
This position will focus on physical planning and urban design aspects of a range of planning assignments, including station area, downtown, corridor, and community plans. Additionally, the Planner/Urban Designer will contribute to physical planning aspects of general plans. The ideal candidate will blend urban design skills with exceptional writing ability. Work will combine design and planning, and involve writing reports and plans; creating computer models, drawings and maps; and facilitating community workshops. This is not a “production” position; candidate should be able to take initiative, think creatively, and manage discrete assignments independently.
The position may be filled at a Planner or Senior Planner level, DOE.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Candidates should have:
• Degree in architecture or city planning with an urban design component
• Minimum one-year planning or urban design experience. Additional experience is desirable
• Excellent computer modeling abilities (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp)
• Expertise with Adobe CS
• Working knowledge of ArcGIS and hand-drawing ability are desirable
