General Description: This position is with the Access Planning & Policy Analysis (APPA) program area in Metro’s Office of Planning. The APPA program area focuses on region- and system-wide policy and planning efforts to improve access to both Metrorail and Metrobus, with specific emphasis on bicycle and pedestrian access, and transportation equity. Planners in this position conduct spatial and demographic analyses, prepare technical reports, analyze transit demand and socio-economic trends, and analyze regional transit development policy strategies. The successful candidate will possess extensive capabilities in conducting quantitative and geospatial analysis, and be particularly skilled at translating highly technical information into written documents, graphics, and presentations that are easily digested by a wide range of audiences. Knowledge in the areas of demographic, statistical, and financial analysis related to project evaluation and alternatives analysis strongly preferred.
