ABOUT THE POSITION
The San Francisco Clean Cities Coalition CCUWP Intern will have the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to projects aimed at reducing petroleum consumption and greenhouse gas emissions while improving air quality and the health of San Francisco’s residents. Activities may include:

• Promoting and implementing a local idle reduction campaign in collaboration with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the San Francisco Department of Public Health, the Parking Enforcement Division of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, and other partners.
• Assisting implementation of the San Francisco Alt Fuel Readiness Project, a California Energy Commission-funded initiative intended to accelerate the adoption of Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFV) and promote the use of Alternative Fuel Infrastructure in the City and County of San Francisco.
• Plan outreach and stakeholder events, and aid in completion of DOE Clean Cities Deliverables such as annual reports and alt fuel price reports

The student selected will be involved in developing work plans, programs and presentations; conducting outreach activities; collecting and analyzing data; and communicating findings. Relevant majors include those providing an analytical background (data analysis or policy analysis) such as science and engineering disciplines, public policy, urban planning, and behavioral economics. Familiarity with transportation systems and issues is a plus.

• Capable of quickly assimilating new information
• Comfortable with speaking to members of the public, business representatives, and elected officials
• Proficient at conducting research and communicating findings clearly, with an attention to detail
• A sense of humor
