(DTA) is a public finance and urban economics consulting firm with its corporate offices in Newport Beach, and branch offices in Fresno, Riverside and San Francisco, California, as well as in Chicago, Illinois and Dallas, Texas. DTA is currently seeking an entry-level financial analyst in our Newport Beach corporate offices to work closely with senior staff in a mentoring environment in order to best design, analyze and implement solutions for clients. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or one with 1 – 2 years experience, an interest in public finance and a desire to develop a long-lasting, rewarding career with an industry leader.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform spreadsheet modeling and field research
• Modify data/tables into comprehensive reports
• Evaluate data for trends and communicate results
• Contact public agencies in order to obtain necessary research information
• Effectively communicate with clients both verbally and through written correspondence

Required Skills:
• Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel; database applications experience a plus
• Strong academic performance with emphasis in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Finance or Statistics
• Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts
• Desire to improve work procedures and to ensure work is performed effectively, accurately and efficiently
• Ability to coordinate information from a myriad of sources into a cohesive presentation
• Strong analytical and statistical analysis capabilities
• Attention to detail
