ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Under the direction of the Program’s Epidemiologist, the Research Associate
will perform the following functions:
• Performs data collection and analysis;
• Writes reports to address existing conditions, potential health impacts, and interventions related
to pedestrian, cyclist and overall traffic safety;
• Supports the monitoring, evaluation, and research for San Francisco’s Vision Zero Traffic Safety
Initiative;
• Analyzes mapping, and summarizes traffic safety, environmental conditions and other related
data;
• Helps to manage ArcGIS and MS Access databases in support of safety and health analyses with
a focus on transportation-related conditions;
• Reviews and summarizes the research literature regarding pedestrian, cyclist safety, and overall
traffic safety, to identify key findings, best practice policy recommendations, and research gaps;
• Builds knowledge familiarity with Health Impact Assessment and transportation safety policy,
issues, analyses, evaluation findings, and best practices in San Francisco and internationally;
AND
• Performs other related duties as required.
