Overview
The San Pablo EDC (SPEDC) is looking for a productive individual to complement our team and be a part of our success. The Program Coordinator (PC) will provide professional support to the General Manager (GM) in coordinating and implementing projects and programs that support the goals and programs of the SPEDC.
The SPEDC is a dynamic nonprofit whose mission is to stabilize, diversity and develop the local economy through the education and training of our workforce and businesses. The SPEDC pilots and manages its own innovative programs targeting local and regional audiences. The SPEDC is a member-based, professional services organization, which partners widely with other organizations.
The PC is one of 2.5 program staff, and part of an overall team of five. The PC has a critical role to fulfill as part of a productive, adaptable team. To be successful in this role, the PC needs to be effective in understanding and engaging the San Pablo community.
Responsibilities
The PC will be responsible for the following:
• Deliver programs, projects and events by working with various other organizations, determining needs, analyzing trends and coordinating meetings.
• Conduct research and data analysis, prepare reports, and recommend action.
• Manage SPEDC programs as assigned, such as membership, Local FIRST, Passport to Savings, ribbon cuttings and Removing Barriers; this includes coordination, implementation and evaluation.
• Contribute to, and propose the creation of, programs.
• Promote membership and sponsorship in the SPEDC, and assist with the execution of benefits.
• Assist in coordinating day-to-day operations related to SPEDC activities, including general office support and SPEDC vehicle management.
• Assist with administrative duties related to the SPEDC Board of Directors (e.g., scheduling, preparing the board packet, and assisting the Board Secretary).
• Create marketing collaterals related to the SPEDC and its programs.
• Conduct regular outreach to local businesses, including SPEDC members.
• Support retail attraction by coordinating with property owners, managers and brokers and preparing site sheets, researching properties and businesses, and participating in tour facilitation of business prospects.
• Coordinate communication with the SPEDC’s social media and PR firm.
• Outreach to program participants and manage participation data.
• Assist with maintaining the organization’s website.
• Conduct analysis of projects or programs, as requested.
• Manage vendor relationships.
• Build strong relationships between the business community, the SPEDC, and other agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Experience identifying, researching and assisting with grant preparation desired.

Requirements
Skills
• Highly proficient in MS Office Suite and social media literate
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Marketing and/or public outreach skills; fund development a plus
• Ability to conduct research and analysis
• Proficient in creating presentations and marketing materials
• Basic data analysis and graphic production in Excel
• Basic Adobe Creative Suite skills required
• Website content and management preferred
• Salesforce or other CRM experience desirable
• Multilingual desirable

Education and Certifications
• An Associate's Degree and three years of directly related experience in an economic development, business attraction and/or development research, community development planning, or related field is required.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning, economic development, public or business administration, finance, or a related field with relevant work experience preferred.
• Membership and participation in related professional organizations are desirable.
• Certification or experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or GIS preferred.

This is a nonexempt 32-36 hour per week, unbenefited position that is vacation and sick leave eligible. Hourly pay range: $19-24.
