Flux Factory, Inc. is a technology startup seeking summer interns for a project focused on the urban environment. Flux’s mission is to help meet the world’s demand for durable, sustainable buildings by applying principles from software engineering, scalable computing, and open platforms.

Location: San Francisco (SOMA), CA and remote
Availability: Immediate, up to 40 hours per week
Pay: Hourly commensurate on experience, and/or school credit


Responsibilities:
-Research zoning codes of large U.S. cities
-Research open data sources pertaining to zoning and planning
-Work with software engineers to encode zoning codes
-User-test software products related to project

Required / Desired Skills:
-Excellent communication and computer skills
-1-3 years experience in the field of urban planning and/or architecture
-BS or BA in engineering, architecture, or urban planning and/or currently pursuing a graduate degree in City Planning

Technical Requirements:
-Expert level in Microsoft Excel
-GIS mapping/database experience a plus
-Experience with programming/software engineering a plus
