Dyett & Bhatia, Urban and Regional Planners (www.dyettandbhatia.com) is looking for an Urban Planner to work on long-range planning, urban design, and policy assignments. We are a collegial, dynamic team committed to place-based planning, excellence, and professional growth, with current work throughout California and other western states. Our work has received dozens of awards, including a National Award from the American Planning Association last year. Our office is located in the vibrant, historic Jackson Square District in downtown San Francisco, easily reached by transit, and with scores of restaurants and cafés within walking distance.

THE POSITION

The Urban Planner will work on various aspects of a range of planning assignments, including general plans, community plans, specific plans, zoning and development regulations, and design guidelines. Specific tasks may include research and analysis, drafting reports and policy documents, physical planning, community outreach, and project coordination. Candidates with a strong urban design background may also work on creating computer models, drawings, and maps. Ideal candidates will have a grounding in California planning practice; such as experience with general plans, housing elements, and environmental review; and interest in sustainability, public health, and livable communities.
