Devine & Gong, Inc. (DGI) is seeking a Project Assistant to support the senior staff at the firm with a variety of tasks to aid in the finance and development of affordable housing projects.

Devine & Gong, Inc. provides technical services to non-profit organizations, public agencies and private individuals in their efforts to build and preserve affordable housing. Since its founding in 1985, DGI has assisted in the development of more than 10,000 units of affordable housing. DGI works primarily in California and the western states, but participates in projects throughout the U.S. The firm is small and collegial. The current team’s collective experience with the firm is more than 35 years.

The Project Assistant will work independently, but under the direction, of the senior staff on a variety of engagements and with a diversity of clients.

The Project Assistant will assist with:
• Creating and modifying financial spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel;
• Preparing and submitting a variety of funding applications;
• Assisting with construction-related draw packages and preparation of periodic reports;
• Closing project transactions; and
• Coordinating development team members including architects, contractors, environmental consultants and others.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and preferably a master’s degree in Business Administration, Planning, Real Estate or Public Policy. A minimum of two years experience in the affordable housing field or related real estate or financing fields is preferred.

The position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, strong with numbers, self-motivated, enjoys working independently, and has excellent communication skills. Creative applicants with high integrity and an appreciation of unique work styles and viewpoints are encouraged.

Compensation
The position can be configured to be part-time or full-time. Salary will be set commensurate with qualifications and experience.
