The County of Orange has excellent opportunities for experienced customer service oriented planning professionals to perform difficult planning research and to review and prepare planning studies, reports, plans and projects and to explain planning program polices, ordinances, laws, and regulations as they relate to the construction and use of buildings, structures and the use of land. This individual will present studies and recommendations to the Zoning Administrator and the Planning Commission, must be capable of working effectively and communicating diplomatically with staff, residents, contractors, developers, consultants, homeowners, real estate agents, appraisers, bankers, investors, insurance agents, and internal clients and to do other work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Option I

Planner III requires a Bachelor's Degree in planning or a related field and two years of planning experience in research, land use administration or in the development of social, physical, environmental or economic plans.

Option II

A combination of education and/or equivalent and relevant planning experience required to develop the knowledge and abilities listed as minimum qualifications. (Full membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is considered qualifying.) .
