The City of Fort Wayne has an exciting opening for a planner with experience in active transportation and other community development disciplines. This is a mid-level position in the of the Community Development - Planning and Policy department. The Division’s mission is to develop and implement creative community-based strategies that enhance economic opportunity, build strong neighborhoods, and ensure a dynamic framework for quality growth and development. Fort Wayne is a bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community where the focus on active transportation has expanded from the Planning and Policy Department across several other local departments and regional partners. The active transportation planner will work to coordinate efforts that implement the balanced transportation goals set forth in the Comprehensive Plan with recent active transportation amendments.
