JOB DESCRIPTION: The County of Santa Clara, Parks and Recreation Department, is seeking an experienced Planner to fill a limited-term, unclassified Planner III position. This position has a limited term ending on May 15, 2015.

The Planner will be part of the County Parks Planning and Development Division, focused on countywide trails planning and development as part of the Department’s implementation of goals and strategies consistent with the County General Plan, Santa Clara County Countywide Trails Master Plan Update, and Parkland Acquisition Plan Update. The Planner will also be managing a new planning project related to the development of a Conceptual Park Use Plan for a regional park.

The Planner will report to the Senior Planner and will work with the Planning group, Senior Real Estate Agent, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) staff and others on the Countywide Trails Assessment and Gaps Analysis and outreach with partner agencies in the planning and development of countywide trails priorities and park use plan.
