The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), San Francisco, CA, seeks 1-2 dynamic student volunteers to join their Administrative Programs team to support their mission effectively in ensuring safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance. The Administrative Programs office is responsible for all aspects of personnel management, budget management, space planning, equipment management, records management, information technology and operational planning. This unit works closely in providing support to Regional directorates and five Area Offices in order to plan and effectively coordinate all aspects of OSHA’s Regional operations.
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity that offers rewarding challenges as well as exposure and experience to government dynamics. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills (both written and oral); knowledge of computer applications for daily functions including ability to use the internet to conduct research; interest in government work and public service.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Providing assistance in managing various program tracking logs and databases
• Providing assistance in updating operating procedures and policies
• Conducting research on various topics, provides recommendation, and assists administrative staff in improving administrative programs

15-20 hours a week
Job duration: 3-6 months
