We’re hiring for an Outreach Specialist in our CA High-Speed Rail Authority Northern California Regional Office based in San Jose, CA. This is a dynamic time in transportation and particularly for high-speed rail in Northern California with the completion of environmental review in the coming months. As we turn our efforts to the next phase of project delivery, this position will be critical in continued stakeholder engagement and communications in the region.

This position would be a great fit for a college graduate with a few years of experience in public policy, government relations, or planning who is interested in working on this transformative mega project. Telework is offered based on operational capacity, however the position is based in Northern California with the expectation of conducting in-person outreach.

The Outreach Specialist will plan, develop materials for, and participate in a wide range of stakeholder and public engagement activities in support of the objectives of the California high-speed rail program. The Outreach Specialist also works with the regional program development team, technical teams, and Communications Branch to support the development, implementation and distribution of communications, media, and social media strategies and plans, web site content, PowerPoint and other presentations, factsheets, and other collateral. The Outreach Specialist will also be responsible for managing and drafting of correspondence, representing the Authority with community and stakeholder groups, and other duties as required.
