The Gulf Coast Community Design Studio (GCCDS) was established on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2005 to work in communities impacted by Hurricane Katrina and has evolved from disaster recovery to addressing long-term issues of community resilience. Located in Biloxi, the GCCDS is a professional outreach arm of Mississippi State University College of Architecture, Art and Design and operates with a full-time staff of architects, landscape architects and planners, always working in close collaboration with multiple non-profit, municipal and professional partners.

As an Architect/Community Planner for the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio, the primary function of the position is to plan and manage planning-related projects or the studio. Provide exemplary planning services primarily to local and regional partners.

1. Manages design and planning projects for the center including project deliverables, oversee additional staff and interns as requested. Manage reporting for grants.
2. Conducts planning related research and analysis. Produce planning materials including reports, maps and other communication pieces.
3. Operate GIS and manage data for the studio.
4. Develops relationships, research grant opportunities and initiate new planning work.
5. Construct formal proposals that include scope of work, timeline and budget. Write and assemble grant applications.
6. Performs routine maintenance and updates for studio, website and blog.
7. Performs other administrative duties including inventory and ordering supplies.
