Earlier this year, Enterprise released a report, "The Elephant in the Region: Charting a Path for Bay Area Metro to Lead a Bold Regional Housing Agenda," which calls for the creation of a regional housing entity. Enterprise is working closely with advocates, philanthropy, regional leaders and agencies to begin to lay the groundwork for creating such an entity. We are exploring models from around the country with eye towards authority, structure, and finance. This internship will focus on a range of activities to assist senior staff in this pursuit. This intern will gain exposure to the Bay Area housing, community development and transportation fields as a part of one of the most bold projects for affordable housing at the regional scale.

The main project for this position to assist with shaping and coordinating a 25-person study tour for Bay Area leaders to New York City in early December. There are many aspects of the tour that need to be planned and managed—agenda development, speaker coordination, learning materials and note taking, securing venues, catering, and so forth. In addition to helping coordinate the tour, there are several other tasks related to regular convenings and stakeholder meetings that will require assistance such as creating meeting materials and systems for input, taking notes, organizing meetings, and so forth.
