Alta Planning + Design is seeking a GIS analyst to join our team in Oakland. Do you love maps, spatial analysis, and active transportation? If so, this position is for you.

This is an opportunity to join Alta’s Transportation Planning team. You will develop high quality maps to support bicycle and pedestrian master plans, transportation corridor studies, and other similar projects. You will have the opportunity to be involved in spatial data collection, creation and management, and will conduct analyses of networks and other spatial data.

We seek a professional who has knowledge of, and interest in, the field of active transportation, has experience working in ArcGIS, and is organized and efficient. As a GIS Analyst at Alta, you have a Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a related field. Ideally, you have experience working in a consulting environment or public entity. Experience with python programming, statistics, and graphic design is a plus. Please be prepared to submit work samples demonstrating your proficiency as an analytical thinker and cartographer.
