Assist with the preparation of transportation planning documents including but not limited to, Transportation Concepts Reports (TCRs), Corridor System Management Plans (CSMPs), and District System Management Plans (DSMPs) for State Highway Routes in District 5. Assist with corridor studies and reports dealing with a range of transportation planning principles including access management, Complete Streets, multimodal integration, and freight. Produce key deliverables associated with these system planning products.

Serve as District 5 liaison with partner agencies within a specified geographic area. Work closely with local, county, regional agencies, and state agencies to ensure coordination and partnerships for addressing transportation issues. Assist with the coordination of the Overall Work Plan (OWP) and Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). Assist with general coordination between RTPA/MPO staff and Caltrans staff on a variety of activities. Prepare a variety of deliverables related to coordination and liaison duties including written correspondence, progress reports, pre-meeting agenda review and briefings, and post-meeting minutes.

Support and assist with advocating that State Highway System needs are reflected in local general plans and other plans developed by local agencies. Attend public hearings and workshops on local plan updates and present input on behalf of Caltrans. Follow-up with external stakeholders on concerns regarding transportation in the local planning process. In partnership with District Development Review staff, assist in the review of specific plans and specific development proposals. Assist staff with the administration and coordination of Planning Grant programs and Transit Grant programs.
