Wallace Roberts & Todd (WRT) is an established design and planning firm renown for its environmental ethos and commitment to enhancing social and ecological functions in the urban landscape. We seek a talented mid-level planner with 4-8 years of experience for a full time position in the San Francisco office. WRT is also a leader in the planning of parks and open space systems for cities throughout the west, addressing the needs of underserved communities, public health, and the integration of natural systems. Community engagement is at the core of planning and design practice.

The candidate will serve as a project planner for planning and urban design studies. Activities will include research, analysis of findings, plan preparation, and community engagement. The position will support senior staff and principals while organizing junior staff who are assisting. The role may include project management duties related to staff hours budgeting, client relations, and coordination with our consultant team.
The successful candidate will have:

• A solid understanding of California planning processes including general plans, specific plans, and CEQA
• Experience with private development processes including site planning, entitlements, review submittals, and mitigations
• Experience organizing, designing, and writing a plan document
• The ability to grow into a project manager
• Exposure to the public arena and brings skills in community engagement
• Self-motivation to learn and expand their practice
• Advanced Experience in ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Suite
• Working knowledge of Sketchup, AutoCAD, Website Creation
• Strong oral communications and excellent writing skills
• Online Survey Development Experience
• The ability to present publicly and understand the community engagement process
• Secondary language skills in Spanish is a plus
