The Urban and Regional Planning program at Michigan State University is looking for a dynamic assistant professor.

The successful candidate is expected to maintain a robust externally funded research program, teach and contribute to the overall outreach effort of the School and University. The position is 45% research, 45% teaching, and 10% service. Desired research areas should address contemporary planning issues with clear external funding opportunities; candidates are expected to demonstrate a research agenda on one of the following preferred areas: social and environmental justice; housing policy and social planning; health; disaster mitigation; demographic change and migration; or food, water and/or energy security.
Candidates should demonstrate an ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Urban and Regional Planning curriculum. Teaching versatility is important at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Faculty undertake service associated with the academic functions of the School, including committee assignments, student supervision and mentoring.
