The City of Cupertino Planning Division is seeking a highly motivated individual interested in an opportunity to join a fast-paced dynamic organization as a paid Planning Intern. This is a limited term position that is needed to start immediately. The majority of the work will be in current planning, including managing planning permit projects, public counter assistance, plan and design review, and minor code enforcement. Ideal candidate shall possess the following:
• Strong background in planning principles and theory
• Competent in examining architectural/project plans and knowledgeable in GIS
• Solid writing and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and to work collaboratively with staff to resolve larger planning issues
• Confident in working with applicants, answering challenging questions, and friendly and professional when dealing with the public
