We are looking for an intern who enjoys a challenge and can make a contribution over the summer, with the possibility of extending the internship into the school year. Our dynamic team is responsible for developing, updating and implementing planning programs including Marin’s award-winning Countywide Plan, the Local Coastal Program, and sea level rise and climate disruption adaptation. This person will analyze land use, environmental, economic and social data, legislation, policies and regulations, and the concerns of the County’s citizens to prepare and recommend policies, regulations, and programs shaping the County’s future.

We invite undergraduates, graduate students and recent grads in environmental/urban planning/design, environmental studies, civil engineering, business, law or a related field who are willing to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week. The intern can earn school credit and valuable hands on work experience, and depending on qualifications and time commitment, may be paid. A successful candidate should have good verbal and written communication skills, be fact and detail-oriented, nimble and adaptive, and thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

Please provide a cover letter, resume or curriculum vita, a brief 2-page writing sample and other information you would feel helpful to evaluate your candidacy to Maggie Gurley at MGurley@marincounty.org.
