About the Financial Inclusion Program
IPA’s Financial Inclusion Program seeks to identify effective solutions to promote healthy financial behavior and shares results to inform the work of financial service providers and governments around the world. As part of the Financial Inclusion Program, the US Finance Initiative uses insights from behavioral economics to develop and rigorously evaluate financial products and services that help low- and moderate-income Americans lead healthier financial lives.

As part of a team of Associates, the Research Associate will manage all aspects of the US Finance Initiative’s set of new and ongoing research projects. This includes but is not limited to: new project development, building relationships with partner organizations, donors, and researchers, working closely with researchers on study design, implementation, data collection, and analysis, and communicating research results to policy and academic audiences.

Responsibilities
Project Development: Support initiative on new project development by identifying partnership and funding opportunities.
Policy: Promote adoption of research results through written materials and policy-oriented events
Project management: Coordinate between researchers and implementing partners to manage new and ongoing research partnerships. Oversee all project implementation and data collection activities, including training partner staff and surveyors, as necessary. Monitor project implementation and data quality and throughout the life of the project.
Data analysis: Clean and analyze data from surveys and administrative data sources.
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts
Demonstrated project management skills, including budgeting, attention to operational and research details, and ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
Experience with Stata (preferred) or other statistical software required
Familiarity with randomized controlled trials required; experience managing RCTs in the field preferred
Familiarity with the US financial services sector preferred
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Self-starter; ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, or other related field required
2 years of work experience preferred
