WRA, Inc. is looking for energetic, career-minded landscape designers to join us in our San Rafael office. We currently have one opening in our landscape architecture department and are looking for someone with experience in wetland and riparian restoration and mitigation projects, public parks and trail systems, interpretive panels and signage, and green infrastructure projects. California native plant knowledge is preferred. The work that this position entails is varied and may also include assisting in planning and designing residential and commercial developments that utilize natural drainage systems and alternatives that have reduced environmental impacts. Experience in these areas is preferred, but not required.

Required Qualifications:
• Master of Landscape Architecture degree with undergraduate degree in biology, ecology, environmental science or other applicable disciplines
• Experience using AutoCAD
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Knowledge of ecology, propagation, and establishment of native plants
• Demonstrated skill in graphic design and layout
• Strong writing and communication ability

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with interpretive planning, interpretive programming, interpretive writing, and/or environmental education
• Experience with 3-D modeling and rendering (AutoDesk 3ds Max or SketchUp Pro)
• Demonstrated ability to create effective and evocative plan, section, perspective and birds-eye renderings, as well as drawings and illustrations, in a variety of hand and digital media

Work may include assisting senior staff with the following:
• Prepare schematic plans for wetland, riparian, and other habitat restoration projects
• Plan and design residential and commercial developments utilizing sustainable, green infrastructure for stormwater management and habitat protection and restoration
• Prepare wetland water budgets using NRCS TR-55 methodologies
• Prepare grading plans for wetland restoration projects
• Prepare planting plans and irrigation plans for wetland, riparian, and other habitat restoration projects
• Utilize AutoCAD to produce construction drawings and details
• Adapt and develop construction specifications for restoration and public park projects
• Provide construction administration services, including field observation of grading and planting
• Develop schematic landscape plans for public parks and multi-use recreational trails
• Prepare illustrative concept drawings using AutoCAD, Adobe CS, freehand drawing, and color rendering
• Prepare graphics for interpretive panels and signage
