The City of Hercules, California’s Planning Department is seeking two (2) interns to support the Planning Department’s short- and long-term projects. The start date for the internship is on or after Monday, February 1, 2016, and the end date is on or after Friday, April 29, 2016. The Economic Development Interns will be responsible for one of two studies, including:
1) A SWOT Analysis survey, entailing developing and conducting an economic development survey of businesses and other stakeholders regarding the City’s goals, objectives, direction, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Results of the survey will be included in an economic development SWOT analysis presentation to the City’s economic development committee.
2) Shovel-Ready Sites Analysis, entailing collaboration with the real estate community, and the county and state economic development agencies to identify and index available shovel-ready sites in the City. The role entails developing a process to maintain the shovel-ready sites database and ongoing collaborate with stakeholders.
The intern serving in this role is expected to work an established schedule for approximately eight (8) to 20 hours per week.
