The Office of Councilmember Arreguin is looking for dynamic and talented interns to make important contributions to the City of Berkeley this Spring term. We have three Research and Policy Intern positions that are available immediately, each concentrating on issues that are among our main focus:

• The Affordable Housing Intern will assist in the research and development of policies that address our housing crisis and create protections for the most vulnerable.

• The Zero Net Energy Intern will lead the research and development of a Zero Net Energy requirement for all new buildings. This position will also assist with other green building and environmental policy research and development.

• The Economic Development Intern will assist in the research and development of policies that support small and locally owned businesses, and promote the prosperity of our downtown.

Working at the Berkeley City Council is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in city planning or public policy to get firsthand experience. Our office is an open and collaborative place, and we welcome interns developing their own ideas for policy. It is just as important to us to help you grow professionally as it is to ensure solid deliverables.

Internships are flexible with a preference for 10 hours per week and can extend into the summer or following year for those interested.
