We are seeking candidates for a Senior Associate level position in our Los Angeles Economics practice. Successful candidates will have relevant project management experience in real estate, leisure and culture, planning, or related consulting fields.

Candidate should have a minimum of five years of work experience in real estate economics, market research, development, leisure and culture, and/or consulting or work in a related field. Candidates should also have a Master’s Degree, preferably in real estate, business, or city planning. Considerable additional experience in a closely-related field may also be substituted for a graduate degree. Preference will be given to candidates whose experience includes project management for consulting engagements in a relevant field. The selected candidate will be expected to work with other AECOM Economics offices nationally, and with AECOM’s urban design and master planning disciplines, and should be comfortable navigating and thriving in a multi-disciplinary work environment.

In addition to considerable experience in real estate and economic analysis, the candidate must also possess substantial project management experience, and supervisory capabilities. Candidate should be a highly motivated independent thinker with sufficient poise for direct client interaction. The most successful candidates will show potential for rapid professional growth.

Minimum Requirements

The selected candidate will join AECOM’s Economics team within the Economics + Planning practice. Day-to-day tasks will require managing internal and external teams to complete complex real estate and economic assignments including pro forma analysis for a range of land uses, market feasibility research, fiscal and economic impact studies.

The Senior Associate will review and present client deliverables, including memos, reports and PowerPoint presentations; and will support the firm’s business development efforts. The successful candidate will bring a strong foundation of quantitative analytical capabilities, real estate expertise, and an interest in creative solutions as well as significant capacity for leadership.

Education and Skill Requirements:

Candidates must have a B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business, economics, management, urban planning, or a related field (highly qualified candidates should have a Master’s degree in a related field).
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; experience with financial and economic modeling desirable.
History of project management.
Detail-oriented: Strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn more and a desire to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, deadline-driven team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical.
Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite imperative; experience with other quantitative/mapping programs is desirable, including GIS and IMPLAN.
Experience with private and public clients desirable.
